  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 lbs ground beef, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, 1 finely diced onion, 2 tsp salt, and 1 tsp black pepper. Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties.
  2. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter and sauté 1 sliced onion until soft. Stir in 3 tbsp flour; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in 2 cups beef broth and 1 cup heavy cream until smooth.
  5. Nestle the patties back into the gravy and cover tightly with a lid or foil.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake covered for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
