  • 6 strips bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 (28 oz) cans original baked beans (do not drain)
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté diced onion in remaining bacon fat until softened. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine baked beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onions, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard. Stir well.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake uncovered for 1 hour, stirring halfway through.
  6. Let rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
