Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring salmon to room temperature by letting it sit for 15–20 minutes. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until nearly cooked through.
  5. Add remaining butter to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce between the salmon pieces. Allow it to bubble for 20–30 seconds before removing from heat.
  6. Flip the salmon one last time to coat with glaze before serving.
