Ingredients
- 2 ½ tablespoons oil
- 2 pounds chuck steak, cubed
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 large tomatoes, diced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent (about 3-4 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add cubed chuck steak to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Stir in chopped bell peppers and cook for a couple of minutes until softened.
- Mix in tomato paste and diced tomatoes; cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture; stir well and cook for another minute.
- Pour in beef broth, along with salt, black pepper, cumin, and chili powder. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low.
- Cover the pot and let simmer on low heat for about 2 hours until meat is tender.
