Ingredients

- 2 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- nonpareils for sprinkling on top (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter with light brown and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet and create an indentation in each cookie using your thumb.
- Bake for about 10 minutes; let cool slightly before adding ganache.
- For ganache, heat chocolate chips and cream until melted; fill each cookie's thumbprint.
- Allow ganache to set before serving.
