Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mash the overripe bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer until fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  4. Add in room temperature eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture and gently fold until just combined. Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until set; a knife inserted should come out clean. Allow cooling for at least 20 minutes before serving.
