  • 20 Oreo cookies (230 grams)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 1/3 cups heavy cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush Oreos into fine crumbs; mix with melted butter. Press into the bottom of a pie dish and bake for about 10 minutes until set. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Melt bittersweet chocolate in a double boiler. In another bowl, beat together granulated sugar and eggs until pale and thickened. Gradually add melted chocolate, followed by vanilla extract and softened butter, beating until fluffy.
  3. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  4. For the topping, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled pie before serving and garnish with chocolate shavings.
