  • 2 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 110 g (1/3 cup) honey
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes

Instructions

  1. Coat chicken thighs in cornflour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over high heat.
  3. Cook chicken until golden brown on both sides (about 4–5 minutes per side).
  4. Add butter and garlic to the pan; reduce heat to medium to prevent burning.
  5. Combine honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and soy sauce in a bowl; pour over the chicken.
  6. Increase heat to boil; simmer for 4–5 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked through.
  7. Garnish with parsley and chili flakes; serve hot over boiled rice.
