Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup liquid aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tsps Sambal Oelek
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 tsps cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients except water and cornstarch. Bring to a boil while stirring occasionally.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with water until dissolved to create a slurry.
  3. Add the slurry to the saucepan and whisk continuously over medium-low heat for about 5–10 minutes until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool before storing in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.
