  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2½ teaspoons fresh cracked black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Mix spices (brown sugar, granulated sugar, onion powder, salt, paprika, pepper, mustard, cumin, cayenne pepper, nutmeg) in a bowl.
  3. Remove the membrane from the ribs.
  4. Wrap ribs in heavy-duty aluminum foil and apply dry rub generously on both sides.
  5. Seal the foil tightly and bake for about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  6. After baking, mix barbecue sauce with brown sugar. Unwrap ribs carefully and spread the sauce over them.
  7. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes until caramelized.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
