  • 6 Tbsp softened butter (divided)
  • 4 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 Tbsp softened butter (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • For the frosting: 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • 4 Tbsp softened butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, egg, melted butter, sugar, and salt; whisk until blended.
  2. Gradually mix in flour until combined and knead for about 3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the filling evenly before rolling it tightly into a log.
  6. Cut into eight equal rolls using dental floss and place in a greased baking pan.
  7. Let rise again for another 30 minutes before baking at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes.
  8. Prepare the frosting by beating together softened butter, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Spread frosting over warm rolls before serving.
