Description

The Perfect Tuna Melt is a delicious spin on the classic sandwich, delivering creamy, savory flavors between crispy, golden-brown bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 (5 oz) cans tuna, drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 34 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Sliced bread
  • Softened butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna with chopped onion, celery, garlic, parsley, mayonnaise, olive oil, and mozzarella. Mix well; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Butter one side of a slice of bread and place it in the skillet butter-side down.
  4. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the tuna mixture on top. Butter another slice of bread and place it on top (buttered side up).
  5. Cook until golden brown on one side; flip and grill the other side until crispy.
